Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. — Heb 13:2
Even as a little girl, I loved this Bible verse. It is adventurous. One day a stranger turns up. A stranger who is actually an angel, but I might not know for sure. I don’t think angels really have wings that would give them away. Though, I think I would suspect their true identity. But it doesn’t matter… whether they are an angel or not … I get to show strangers hospitality! That’s adventurous.
Hospitality is an ancient concept. In the Old Testament, if someone showed up at your tent or house, you were to feed, shelter, and protect them. In the New Testament, hospitality is pretty much summed up with story of the Good Samaritan. And Jesus said that those who had welcomed a stranger had welcomed him!
Show hospitality to the next stranger you meet! And all the strangers afterwards too.

The world would be a much better place if we were all able to replace fear with hospitality.
