The Queen of Sheba, likely an African Queen, came to visit King Solomon in Jerusalem. While there, she told him “all that was on her mind.” She wanted to see if what everyone said about “his relationship with God” was true.
So she observed his life and tested him with all kinds of questions.
When the Queen of Sheba had observed all … she was breathless. So she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your accomplishments and of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it… Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king to execute justice and righteousness.” — 1 Kings 10:4-9
The Spirit of God, the God who is love, was upon King Solomon. The Queen of Sheba recognized this because of the way he lived executing justice and righteousness. The Spirit of Jesus lives in the followers of Jesus. Likewise, the followers of Jesus should leave people breathless at the wonder and greatness of God’s love working through us.
Do we leave people breathless when they observe our lives and good deeds?
