Jesus, aware of their inner thoughts, took a little child and put it by his side, and said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me — Luke 9:47-48
The Greek word for welcome means to receive, accept, approve, put up with, and tolerate.
The little child was the most vulnerable person standing among Jesus and his disciples at the moment Jesus taught this lesson. Who is the most vulnerable in our circles right now? Let’s reach out to them – receive them, accept them, approve of them, put up with them, and tolerate them. Who is the most vulnerable in the world right now? How can we reach out to them?
Do so and we will have welcomed God into our world.
